Tokyu Property Management is a company that supports the business continuity of its group companies from an infrastructure perspective. It manages and operates approximately 1,500 buildings of various sizes, primarily those constructed by the Tokyu Group.
The BC Research Center, within this group that promotes the slogan "Sustainable Urban Development for a New Era," acts as a symbolic hub. It focuses on fostering resilient human resources and tackles difficult regional issues that arise during emergencies by conducting research and implementation, dividing themes in collaboration with the group.

The Space Environment and Energy Laboratories are working to create next-generation energy technologies such as nuclear fusion and space solar power systems, as well as technologies that will enable resilient environmental adaptation in order to realize zero environmental impact. In collaboration with the participating organizations of this consortium, we aim to create a society in which people and nature can coexist in a clean, diverse and safe environment.

Our institute serves as the in-house research facility for Tokyu Corporation and the Tokyu Group. We conduct investigations, research, and proposals to support the business activities of various Tokyu Group companies. The Tokyu Group has established the following goals:

1. To ensure that areas along Tokyu train lines remain "preferred areas" by achieving three number-one rankings: "The Most Desirable Residential Area," "The Most Popular Destination—Shibuya," and "The Most Ideal Workplace—Futako-Tamagawa."

2. To strengthen the Tokyu Group as a unified and robust corporate entity under the concept of "One Tokyu" by pursuing business strategies and growth initiatives from a long-term perspective.

Our institute also contributes to the vision of the Tokyu Group by conducting research on the business activities of its companies and proposing new living environments for a new era.

Over the past 30 years, DRI has set the global stand and deployed the most advanced knowledge in more than 100 countries, with a focus on education about BCM: Business Continuity Management and professional certification. Japan is a disaster-prone country. We learn lessons from the many disasters that have occurred in the past, and think about how to survive and thrive. In the face of a changes climate, this strategy will help us to be a resilient country. The Research Institute of Science for Safety and Sustainability (RISS) at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) are engaged in research to reduce environmental and physical risk by appropriate use of chemical substances, materials and energy towards achieving a society harmonizing industry and the environment. Researchers of our research institute would participate in the Collaborative Graduate School Program established at the University of Tsukuba, and we would contribute to foster necessary human resources in the society harmonizing industry and the environment by collaborating with consorium member institutes including the University of Tuskuba.

National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) has been working on research and development in a wide range of fields including earthquake, volcano, meteorological disaster, snow and ice, disaster mitigation and integrated research, with the objective of “realization of a society resilient to disasters” by improving the level of science and technology for disaster risk reduction. To overcome national crisis disasters and keep Japan sustainable in the next century, we work on research and human resources development in the field of risk and resilience, cooperating with member organizations through this Consortium.
