2025年7月14日、筑波大学にて第235回リスク工学研究会（RERM）が開催されました。今回は、この6月より本コンソーシアムにご参画いただいた福島国際研究教育機構（F-REI）より山崎光悦理事長を講師にお迎えし、「東日本大震災・原子力災害からの創造的復興を目指す福島国際研究教育機構の取組み」という題目でご講演いただきました。

講演では、地震・津波・原子力災害という複合災害により甚大な被害を受けた福島・東北の「創造的復興」に向けて、令和5年4月に浪江町に設立されたF-REIの2年間の挑戦と今後の展開について、研究開発、産業化、人材育成などの面から詳しくご紹介いただきました。

現地会場とオンラインで多くの大学院生が参加し、質疑も活発に行われるなど、非常に有意義な時間となりました。特に「復旧ではなく創造的復興」「元に戻すだけでなく、次世代の産業基盤をつくり、より良い地域を目指す」というF-REIの理念を「レジリエンス」の考え方と重ね合わせ共感する声も多く聞かれました。

On July 14, 2025, the 235th Risk Engineering Research Meeting (RERM) was held at the University of Tsukuba. For this session, we were honored to welcome Dr. Koetsu Yamazaki, President of the Fukushima Institute for Research, Education and Innovation (F-REI), which joined our consortium this June. He delivered a lecture titled "F-REI’s Initiatives Aiming for Creative Reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster."

In his lecture, Dr. Yamazaki provided a detailed overview of F-REI’s two-year journey since its establishment in April 2023 in Namie Town, as well as its future prospects. He discussed the organization’s efforts toward “creative reconstruction” of Fukushima and the Tohoku region, which suffered devastating damage from the compound disaster of the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear accident. His talk covered various aspects including research and development, industrialization, and human resource development.

The event was attended by many graduate students both on-site and online, and the Q&A session was lively and engaging, making it a highly meaningful occasion.
